When you look at the spectacular night view from the restaurant of the hotel, you will be surprised to see how the view of Bolu resembles Bosphorus view. In this sincere environment, the fruits and vegetables that grow on the garden of the house are offered to the guests. The screen in the recreation room is the indicator of a rich music and concert archive. Kartalkaya, one of the most popular ski-centers in Turkey, is offering ski facilities not only to the professionals but also to the amateurs. The total length of the tracks is app. 43, the number of the tracks is appr. 32, and the number of the lifts is appr. 19. The ski season generally starts in November or December and ends in March or April. If you are planning to spend your Christmas, festivals, etc. Here, it is better to complete your reservations beforehand. Kartalkaya is only 35 km. away from Bolu.
BOLU
With 60% of the land covered in forestry areas, Bolu is a place which comes at the top of the list of Turkeys green paradises. Besides various places which are open to visitors all year round such as Abant and Yedigöller, Bolu is also famous for its chefs and the wonderful cuisine they prepare. The history of chefs who are trained from Mengen goes way back to the times of the Padışah (Kings). These days Mengeli master chefs are known not only in Turkey but in many other places. The Mengen chef’s festival which is held each year is shown great importance as it adds to the culture and tourism of the area. In the villages here you will find an oven made from earth or brick in the garden of almost every house. The taste of the pastries and meals which are cooked above the flames in these ovens is truly unique.
Some mouth watering favourites are; Yayla soup, Stuffed vine leaves, Meat stew, Savoury pastries and Baklava. As well as these there are also many culinary delights which are particular to the area such as Mudurnus Palace Helva which is a kind of dry dessert which has also become recognised all over the world. From a geological point Bolu is set up over the most important fault lines in Turkey and for this reason is home to many geothermal and thermal water springs. Some of the most important of these springs are; Bolu, Babas, Serot, Pavlu, Kesenözü and Çatak. Bolu is also home to the most beautiful forests in Turkey which are also some of the rarest in the world, with various tree types such as Oak, Pine, Beech and Fir. Whether it be for their height or age the many monumental trees are tremendous.
