This mansion is found in one of Gaziantep’s oldest settlements in the Tepebasi district, which is known as Hayik Tepe. The mansion was built in the 1850’s and is reached by passing through a place that is scented with history. It is one of Gaziantep’s 5 officially registered mansions. With the zinc covering on the exterior, which the hotel took its name from and the cave, the well, the inner courtyard and the structure, you can see that this is an establishment that carries all the specialities of a traditional mansion. The cave, which was once used as a pantry or shelter for animals, has now been transformed into a bar. With its distinguished design and mysterious appearence you are in for a pleasant surprise and as you step through the doors of the mansion, you leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind you and take a journey into the distant past. The hotel is found amongst various historical structures, such as the 1873 Meryam Ana Cathedral, Kurtulus mosque and Kendirli church. One of its more recent neighbours is a synagogue which was built in 2005.
