The Tuhfezade family, were highly respected in Datça for nearly two hundred years and the families large estate is referred to by the locals as the ‘large house’. The highlight of the mansion, which was bought and restored in 2002 by Mehmet Pir, is that it still carries its old secretive charm. The residence, located on the top of a hill, presents its guests with over an acre of garden, with fragrant flowers and plenty of fresh air. At the southern point of the garden, the whole of the magnificent, historical, stone mansion, greets you with its spacious 4 rooms and suite which includes its own ‘baş oda’. You won’t be able to take your eyes off the tablo, depicting miniature figurines, from the Baroque era. As you move forward from the large sofa, you come across one of the most precious features of the mansion, which is the family hamam (turkish bath). Ottoman, mediterranean and aegean flavours are presented together and you will soon feel that you have become a confidant of the history of this place.

Datça
DATÇARich in oxygen
Strabon said, "If God wanted man to live long he would have left him in Datca peninsula”. Because this district comes second in the world, and first in Turkey regarding the oxygen it contains. The oldest settlement area in the peninsula dates back to 2000 B.C. Being 70 kilometres away from Marmaris, this town was able to remain largely intact thanks to its rough and bumpy roads. It’s possible to see typical Datça houses in the historical area called Ancient Datça. It also has 52 beautiful bays around.
