We are in Eski Bademli village, with its historical fountain, laundry, plane tree, village coffee shop and famous stone houses. One of Gökçeada’s most historical establishments is the Taş mektep (stone school), which has now been restored and re-opened in Eski Bademli village, as the Imbros Hotel. Sip your coffee as you watch the sunset, along with its fabulous view from the hotel, which is situated on the highest point of the island. You are presented with comfort and service that spoils you. The rich fish menu at the restaurant, will be a favourite for sea-food lovers.

Gökçeada

The old name for Gökçeada was Imroz which means God of fertility on barren soils. This name really describes the Island perfectly. As you approach the Island by ferry, the hard rock faces appear cold with an unwelcoming structure however this appearence is soon forgotten when you enter the Island and see the astonishingly fertile lands with vineyards, olive groves for as far as the eye can see and grain the height of grown men.....Imagine miles of sandy beaches, where you can enter the sea without hearing the sound of a single soul and really enjoy the fabulous turquoise waters as you take in the beautiful bays. What more could be needed to create the perfect holiday heaven?
